Recommended Service Intervals

It is recommended that major and minor services be carried out at 5,000 miles (6,000 on later machines) or six monthly intervals, whichever is the shorter. If the machine is not used regularly or is used for short, local journeys, oils do deteriorate and may not provide the necessary lubrication. Engine oil - in normal usage should be changed every six months at the latest.

Gearbox oil - should be renewed at least once a year.
Drive shaft oil - should be renewed at least one a year. (Not K or R1100)
Rear bevel drive oil - should be renewed at least once a year.
Front fork oil - should be renewed at least once a year (Not R1100)
